Easy Frosé Recipe

If I have one regret this summer, it may be that I didn't make this easy Frosé recipe sooner!

Okay, let's backup, because you may be wondering what is Frosé? It's basically frozen rosé wine (a rosé slushie) with a few some delicious seasonal fruit mixed in ... a wine slushie!

I'm not sure where I first heard of this refreshing drink, but they had me at rosé, which is definitely my fave summer wine. I knew I had to create my own wine slushie recipe ASAP ... before summer was over.

This Frozen Strawberry Rosé Slushie tastes absolutely amazing and is pretty much the definition of a summer co*cktail. I can't think of a better way to cool off in this Texas heat!

Frosé Ingredients

Here's the thing ... not only is this rosé slushie super refreshing and delicious, it's also so easy to make!

You only need four ingredients for this wine slushie recipe:

  • Rosé Wine
  • Strawberries
  • Raspberries
  • A little sugar

To get the most vibrantly colored Frosé drink, choose the most deeply colored, darkest pink rosé can find. You also want a dry rosé, so make sure avoid sweet wines, like blushes and White Zinfandel (yuck).

And keep in mind that you don't need a super fancy wine for this recipe. I mean, this is a wine slushie after all!

That doesn't mean you should get total plonk, of course, you still want to get a bottle you wouldn't mind drinking on its own.I used Francis Ford Coppola Sofia Rosé, which I got at Target. It only cost about $11 or $12, which is perfect, because you are going to want to make this frozen rosé wine recipe in bulk!

Besides the wine, the berries are the other thing that gives this Frozen Strawberry Rosé Slushie its pretty color.

I used lots of fresh strawberries, plus raspberries for extra color for this frozen rosé wine recipe. The berries also add a touch of sweetness.

It should go without saying ... make sure to choose the freshest, juiciest, sweetest berries you can find!

The Trick to Making Wine Slushies at Home

So how do you get that wonderful slushie texture? It's pretty easy.

Do you have a slushie machine? Me, neither. The secret to getting the perfect texture is an ice cream maker!

I used my trusty Cuisinart ice cream maker, and it whipped up a batch of these Frosé Slushies in 10 minutes flat. Which means you can make them pretty much on demand.

Don't have an ice cream maker? No worries ... make this Frosé recipe in your freezer instead. Your frozen wine slush will take longer, and the texture won't be as smooth, but hey, it will still taste darn good!

How to Make Frosé

This wine slushie is so simple to make!

You'll start by pureeing the berries. Once they're smooth, you'll strain out the seeds, then combine the mixture with a little sugar.

Chill this berry puree and the wine for a couple hours. Don't skip this step!

After everything is chilled, mix the berries and wine together, then pour the mixture into your ice cream maker.

Process this mixture until it's the perfect slushie texture; it took about 10 minutes in my ice cream maker.

Tip: my ice cream maker only fit about half the recipe at one time. So blend up one batch, serve it, then pop the liner from the ice cream maker back in your freezer. When it's time for the next round, pull it out and make a fresh batch.

And that's it ... your Frosé recipe is ready to enjoy!

If you're anything like me, this rosé slushie is destined to become your signature drink. It's just so good.

Relax with a batch this weekend!
