Complete Escape from Tarkov Factory Map Guide (2024)

The Factory is the smallest map in Escape from Tarkov, making it one of the most PvP-intensive maps in the game. The nature of the map design and close-quarters combat, combined with the likelihood of running into people, make this a really challenging map.

If you are feeling stuck, don’t worry; you’re not the only one. This map can be challenging even for experienced players. This article will show you the best strategies to survive more raids, keep your loot, and potentially get a lot of it as well.

If you are new to the game, will provide some general tips and guidance on how to improve. This article will focus on FPS fundamentals we have learned over the years, as well as map-specific tips. Together, these insights will help you excel on the challenging Escape from Tarkov Factory map.

In this article, we will mainly focus on improving. While tips about the map are helpful, it is more important to keep things like how to peek and where to expect enemies in mind. The downside is that learning all of this takes time, but it is well worth the effort.

This is a Factory guide, and some tips will also carry over to other maps.

Useful Factory Map Tips for Escape from Tarkov Players

This will be the most extensive part, as it will focus mainly on fundamentals and what has helped us the most; more niche tips will come later in the article.

1. You Must Learn Spawn Locations on the Factory Map in Escape from Tarkov

The most important tip about surviving in Factory is to memorize the spawns. While this can take time, it is the single best thing you can do. To help you memorize them, remember that no matter where you spawn, there is always a spawn next to you that you need to be aware of.

For this part, we strongly recommend pulling up a map of the Factory or using a site like Mapgenie.io that shows exactly where to expect other people.

To make it simple, in the photo below, all of these are PMC spawns, and notice how they almost surround the spawn in the middle. You need to be wary of situations like this. With time, you will know exactly how every spawn works, giving you a big advantage.

There are a maximum of six players on this map, which means that if you see five PMCs dead, you are the only PMC left and, not counting player scavs, you are relatively safe. It is important to keep track of this because some of the riskier plays can pay off if you know most of the server is gone.

2. Use Game Mechanics To Your Advantage

Since Factory is such a PVP-dominant map in Escape from Tarkov, try right-hand peeking, as you are much less visible and you can peek sooner. This is often overlooked by Escape from Tarkov newbies, but it is critical to keep this in mind.

Always have a piece of cover between you and the other person; for example, something like the forklifts near the glass hallway. This may seem like an obvious tip, but a lot of players die by getting caught out in the open.

Make sure you have the “peeker’s advantage” on your side. Basically, if you are moving and the person is stationary, you have the edge in the fight.

3. Do Not Be Greedy on Escape from Tarkov’s Factory Map

What we often see, and what we sometimes suffer from ourselves, is greed. If you get a kill on a player and a scav and loot everything, even though it’s in the open, but haven’t checked if it’s safe and end up dying because of it.

On Factory, this is especially prominent, as you cannot lie down in the grass and you really stand out. Additionally, it is a small map and most people would have heard you shooting. To sum up, Escape from Tarkov players must avoid looting in the open on Factory.

4. Have A Plan Before Going Into Factory

Players often make the mistake of going into the raid without a plan of what they want to do. Do you have a quest, or are you just going to practice your PvP?

If you stick to your plan and don’t wander around aimlessly, you will survive more raids. Remember, the longer you spend in a raid, the more chances you have of dying and losing all of your gear.

How Can I Improve on the Escape from Tarkov Factory Map?

The best way to learn Factory is to play. Yet, you don’t want to just throw yourself out there if you’re not ready. That’s where offline raids come in; offline raids will help you learn the layout of the map and where the spawns are.

For easy practice, we recommend you select the following settings:

  • In the main menu select Escape From Tarkov, then select PMC.
  • Choose Factory, and your preferred time of day, we recommend daytime.
  • Select “Enable practice mode for this raid” and click on “Game Settings.”
  • Under PVE settings, for AI amount choose Horde, and for AI difficulty choose Easy.
  • Clicking “Next”, then “Ready” will get you into the offline raid.

Keep in mind that you don’t lose any stuff in practice mode, and these settings will help you practice your aim and gunplay if you’re not yet ready to go into Factory. It’s also an excellent way to warm up.

Of course, you can tamper with any of the settings here and adjust them to your liking; these are just what we recommend.

The next step up from an offline raid is a Scav raid, where you spawn later into the raid as a player scav and do not bring anything from your stash. Playing as a scav is a good way to learn the layout of the map and hotspots.

How To Avoid Extract Campers on Escape from Tarkov’s Factory Map

Complete Escape from Tarkov Factory Map Guide (4)

We all know how annoying campers can be. Sometimes, even when you expect someone to be camping, they can still get the upper hand, especially if there are multiple of them.

The winning move, in this case, is not to play. At the factory, Gate 3 extraction is the most heavily-camped, and bringing a factory exit key makes a big difference. With this key, you can extract from almost any side of the map.

Sometimes you will have good loot on you, or you may be hurt, and running to the potentially hottest zone on the map is not a wise idea. Currently, it goes for about 100k on the flea market right now, and it will pay for itself in a few raids.

This completely changes the way you traverse the map, too. All you need to do is learn the alternate routes, and you’re good to go.

What Type Of Weapons Should You Bring into a Factory Raid in Tarkov?

1. SMGs

For Factory, the most powerful class of weapons are usually SMGs, assault rifles, and shotguns. For early wipe or beginners, the PPsh-41 and Kedr are underrated weapons. Stuff like the MP5, PP-19-01, and other 9mm SMGs are good choices.

The gun that stands out right now is the UMP-45. It is cheap, has very little recoil, its ammo is not expensive and is readily available. Overall, it is a very solid gun. On the high-end, the P90, MP7, and both Vectors are excellent choices.

2. Assault Rifles

For the higher-end assault rifles, you have guns such as the M4A1, HK416, Ash-12, Mk 47 Mutant, and the RD-704, which are all amazing choices for the close-quarter nature of Factory. If you are on a budget, any of the 5.45 AKs will suffice.

3. Shotguns

Any of the semi-automatic shotguns, such as the Saiga-12 and the MP-153, are great. We recommend using either flechette rounds or magnum buckshot.

Spots Around the Factory Map to Lookout For

Some of the hot spots on Factory are near the spawns, the office area, and Gate 3. You will find most people camping around here or going to these areas in general. Look out for flanking routes around these areas, and be unpredictable.

The vents around the map on top are really risky, but people won’t expect you to be there, so be careful when using them, and try not to stay on them for too long. We prefer using these to find alternate routes rather than to fight people while on them.
